Where did this come about: wearing a hat in certain situations is disrespectful?
Okay, so if you’re saying the Pledge of Allegiance or something, why is it disrespectful to wear a hat while doing so? Where did this practice start, what is the history of it? And why a hat, and not something else, like shoes? Like what if wearing shoes in certain situations was disrespectful?

I don’t understand either. It’s just a hat, and it’s not like it’d interfere with the person reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Most people I know wear hats on their heads, not on their mouths.
