The Massa Circus Takes the Air out of Glenn Beck

The Massa Circus Takes the Air out of Glenn Beck

In the course of his remarkable rise from cable sideshow to Fox News superstar, Glenn Beck has never really faced a serious challenge.

To a man and woman, his opponents only made him stronger, strengthening his every-guy-against-the-world image and putting some meat on the bones of his near paranoid ravings about dark forces aligning against liberty, and himself. When cornered, he only became more vulnerable, more tearful and, at least to his fervent followers, more likable.

She's dressed some of Hollywood's biggest names like Jennifer Lopez, Sarah Jessica Parker and Drew Barrymore, but Victoria Beckham says the first lady is her ultimate dream client.

“I would love to dress Mrs. Obama absolutely absolutely absolutely! I just think she’s incredible and she’s a very strong woman and she’s beautiful,” Beckham gushed at the bash. “I love women and I just want to make women feel good and beautiful and it’s just been a huge compliment that ladies have enjoyed wearing my dresses and they look great! It just goes to show they can flatter women of all different shapes and sizes, all different heights, and that’s what it’s about. It’s about creating an illusion and having a great cut.”

Speaking of the Obama’s, a few of the partygoers believe the president needs to step up and make more of an effort to legalize same-sex marriage

The Oscars: Kathryn Bigelow makes history as The Hurt Locker dominates - Times Online

Kathryn Bigelow last night made Oscar history when she was named Best Director for The Hurt Locker, the first woman to be crowned the queen of Hollywood in the 82-year history of the Academy Awards.

The triumph for Bigelow, who has made a career making films featuring predominantly macho subjects including bank-robbing surfers in Point Break and Army bomb disposal experts in The Hurt Locker, last night proved she is truly comfortable in a man’s world.

Sandra Bullock wins worst actress Razzie as stars attend Oscars rehearsals - Times Online

Sandra Bullock, the odds-on favourite to claim the best actress Oscar in Los Angeles tonight, has been awarded a much more dubious title: worst actress of 2009.

Bullock, the star of The Blind Side who joined a who’s who of Hollywood on stage at the Kodak Theatre for the final dress rehearsal ahead of the Academy Awards yesterday afternoon, was earlier given the not-so-prestigious Razzie Award for the comedy All ABout Steve. No performer has ever won a Razzie – the irreverent awards which honour the worst of Hollywood - and an Oscar in the same year.

The Front Runner

The Front Runner

There are two excellent reasons to watch the Academy Awards on March 7 through to the bitter end: 1) Kathryn Bigelow, 58, may be the first woman to win an Oscar for Best Director, and 2) if she does, she'll beat out her ex-husband James Cameron. These are possibilities that never crossed her mind when she was shooting her Iraq-war movie The Hurt Locker in Jordan in 2007, perspiring in the 115°F heat, her face covered in dirt.(See the top 10 movies of 2009.)

France’s First Lady has divided opinion by hosting a state dinner wearing a tight Roland Mouret dress and no underwire

NO, LET IT LOOSE, SAYS HANNAH BETTS

My circumstances being what they are — thirties, single, fashion flighty — my underwear rivals Agent Provocateur HQ in its embrace of wisp and frippery. Undergarments allow for all manner of tacit deviance — transparency, quarter cups, matching one’s smalls to one’s heels — and, of course, the ultimate deviance of eschewing it altogether.

The driver who accused cantankerous catwalker Naomi Campbell of attacking him apologized to her Thursday, saying it was a misunderstanding that was "blown out of proportion."

Miodrag Mejdina said in a statement through his lawyer Earl Ward that he “got angry and overreacted” when he told cops the 39-year-old Campbell had attacked him with a cellphone from the back seat of a car on Tuesday while driving around Midtown.

Mejdina, 27, said he regrets calling the police
